Medical Guidelines
Please consult with your healthcare provider(s) about including touch-based therapy as part of a broader plan of care.
Bodywork/massage is not a substitute for medical care. If you have any questions regarding the status of your health, injury, or condition, it is advised that you promptly consult with your physician.
You must receive any necessary approval from a medical doctor before receiving bodywork/massage or taking part in a self-care lesson.
Complete disclosure of any health conditions (past or present) and medications is necessary to aid in a safe, healthy, and beneficial massage.
There shall be no liability on the practitioner's part if you forget to inform the therapist of any changes in your health and medical condition.
The practitioner does not diagnose physical or mental illness or disease or prescribe medications or supplements as part of massage.
There are specific techniques that may be used for certain conditions.
Certain techniques can also interfere with the effects or stabilization of certain injections and medications. It is therefore extremely important for me to know this information upfront.
The methods used may be adjusted to suit you and be reviewed by your doctor, as needed.
I will always protect the confidentiality of all information unless disclosure is requested by you or required by law.
You must immediately inform me of any discomfort that might arise during your session so that the technique and/or pressure can be adjusted for your benefit. Massage should never hurt, despite what anyone else might claim.
Bodywork/massage is provided for stress reduction, relaxation, relief from pain and muscular tension, improvement of range-of-motion, increased body awareness, and to support well-being.
